HON ADAM ELIASU RELEASES 300 UNITS CLASSROOM FURNITURE, 3,500 IN TOTAL TO THE EDUCATION DIRECTORATE OF NORTH GONJA.

The importance of school furniture is undeniable, it plays a significant role in the effectiveness of student learning. The right school furniture contributes to the comfort, posture and support of students, all of which contributes positively towards student’s ability to concentrate and work.

Authorities in Education within the North Gonja District seeks to create an enabled environment in all educational instruments and management positions that will facilitate effective teaching and learning, and efficiency in management for the attainment of the District’s Goals.

Classroom ergonomics has therefore been a key priority area for the District Chief Executive, Hon Adam Eliasu. The DCE released about three hundred (300) units of double-desk classroom furniture to the education directorate for onward distribution to needy schools. This brings to about three thousand, five hundred (3,500) units of classroom furniture in total procured under his turner as DCE since 2017. In July, 2022 alone, the DCE made available 1,500 units for same reasons.

For schools, this opens up opportunities to improve student engagement as school furniture is recognized as complementary learning equipment. Physical Infrastructure by way of school blocks and in some instances, support for staff accommodation in rural communities have also received a fair share of investment from the District Assembly.

Hon Red Bawa according to him believes skills, values, habits, facilitating and acquiring knowledge can only be achieved through Education. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels or acts may be considered Educational hence his desire to improve the sector to help shape the future of the District.
