Startup kits to be distributed to apprentice

Youth Unemployment continuous to be worry to Government and the youth of North Gonja is not left out of the hook. In line with government vision in creating jobs for the youth, it has partner with Master Card Foundation to roll out a program called Young Africa Works Projects.

The Apprentice to entrepreneurship (A2E) component of this project seeks to train young men and women between the ages of 18-35 who wants to learn skills craft work. In North Gonja, over two hundreds (200) apprentice were trained in the following trade areas; Dress making and Hairdressing.  These apprentices were matched to skilled craft persons for a period six (6) months to acquire the needed skills to start their own business. Start your business workshops were also organized for them to prepare them to set up after graduation.

 6th June, 2022, a graduation ceremony was organized for them and then supported some with startup kits such as hand sewing machines and Hair dryers.
