The North Gonja District has seen remarkable growth both administratively and Social/Physical development since 2017 under the tutelage of a servant leader Hon Adam Eliasu Red Bawa.
In the last five (5) years, not only did development reach every corner of the District but has seen the extension and establishment of offices meant for state/ public institutions to render services and further enrich the decentralization motive. Yesterday 14/01/2022, the District Chief Executive, Hon Adam Eliasu handed over office spaces to three (3) institutions and accommodation to one (1) making a total of four (4).
The institutions include; The District Health Insurance Scheme, District Agriculture Department, the Rural Enterprise Agency and the Ghana Police Service.
GHANA POLICE SERVICE;
A two-bedroom accommodation and ancillary facilities has been completed, furnished and handed over to the police service in the District to be used by the Police Commander. This brings finality to the formal upgradement of the Daboya Police Post to a District Police Station Status.
THE RURAL ENTERPRISE AGENCY;
The rural enterprise agency, formally known as the National Board for Small Scale Enterprise is part of the Ghana Government’s efforts to reduce poverty and improve living conditions in the rural areas. The development objective is to increase the number of Rural Medium and Small Enterprises that generate profit, growth and employment opportunities.
Hon Adam Eliasu handed over a state of the art office space for the REP to facilitate the delivery of their mandate in the District.
THE AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT;
The North Gonja District is well endowed with rich arable lands, and so the major economic activities include Farming, Cattle Rearing and Trading. Till now, the District Agric office used to perch in a temporal building but today has also been handed permanent one to help deal with challenges facing the sector in the District.
Last but not least, THE DISTRICT HEALTH INSURANCE;
Residents of the District have relied on Damongo Municipal, Tolon District and in Tamale Metro for health insurance services. Hon Adam Eliasu’s efforts at bringing relief to his has finally paid off as full time and permanent operations will start soon by rendering the services of health insurance for the people to access health care. The equally good news is that, the Contractor for the Daboya District Hospital has reported to site as part of the Government’s agenda 111 blueprint for the health sector.
It’s expected that, these will help push services in the District notch higher and better. God Bless North Gonja, And Make Us Great And Strong.
