The Savannah Regional Minister and Legislator for the Salaga South Constituency yesterday Monday 23/11/2020 led a highly powered delegation of UNICEF, Ghana Health Service and NADMO to Daboya in the North Gonja District. The NPP government recognises the people as the nation’s greatest resource, it’s both the instrument and objective of national development. The protection and enhancement of it’s welfare is the government’s first responsibility.
Mid this year, the North Gonja specifically Daboya and it’s environs was hit by flood as a result of the spilling from the Bagre Dam and White Volta River basin. The visit by the Regional Minister and his team is to provide support services and aide victims lives to return to normalcy. The Fulani community is one group that was severely hit, the District Assembly in collaboration with the Wasipe Palace provided a new temporal piece of land to put up accommodation.
Madam Anne – Claire Dufay, UNICEF Representative in Ghana applauded the DCE Hon Adam Eliasu Red Bawa and the Regional Minister for their leadership. She also thanked the Regional and District Health authorities led by Dr. Chrisantus Kubio for extending health care services to the people. UNICEF made a donation of relief items and encouraged them to adhere to the preventable Covid-19 practices and child education.
The regional minister and DCE Hon Adam Eliasu Red Bawa explained the importance of the visit to the media in the aftermath of the short programme. They both expressed appreciation to UNICEF and all partners in that regard.
