The North Gonja District Assembly, under the leadership of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdulai Nashiru, today joined the rest of the nation in observing the National Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer, in line with the directive of the President for all regions and districts to participate in the nationwide exercise.

The observance was held in two sessions to reflect the country’s religious diversity. The first session was the Islamic prayer, held in the morning, where Imams gathered in the Mosque to offer prayers for peace, unity, and national development. This was followed by the Christian prayer service at the Pentecost Church auditorium, where pastors and other clergy members also lifted prayers for the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Abdulai Nashiru expressed his profound appreciation to the Imams, pastors, and all religious leaders for honouring the national call to prayer. He emphasized the important role of faith leaders in promoting peace, unity, and moral values within society.

The Hon. DCE further urged the religious leaders to continue praying for the President, the Government, and the North Gonja District, asking for God’s guidance, wisdom, and favour in the implementation of development initiatives. He also called for continuous prayers for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity for the people of North Gonja and Ghana as a whole.

The National Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer serves as a reminder of the nation’s dependence on God and the collective responsibility of all citizens to work together in building a peaceful, united, and prosperous Ghana.
